Carlo Licheri, Showroom Manager for Calligaris in Tottenham Court Road, tells us what’s exciting him this season.

“Over the coming year, the Danish influence will reach a peak, with the retro vibe reinterpreted for modern living. Calligaris is all about strong shapes and soft tones with a strong re-emergence of softer pastel tones in our ceramics, mirrored in our soft furnishings and fabrics.

I visit the head office in Italy at least two or three times a year to discuss what is going to work in London. Then we identify our ‘standout’ pieces and put together a complete look. But we always try to leave room for our clients to express their own personality.

I have my favourites

I love the Levante Table which combines the tactile qualities of wood with the transparency of glass, and a splash of colour from the aluminium guides. Its simple intimacy makes it just right for two or, at its fullest extent, it’s the perfect focus for family life. The timeless design also makes it easy to pair with just about any chair.

There’s the CODE Collection as well, a range of products by young designers that can be extraordinary, surprising and ironic, all at the same time.

Then there’s the season’s must-haves

The Lazy Chair and Footstool makes playful references to our past but uses modern materials and construction techniques. It’s equally at home in the library or the living room.”
